What is REA?

REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) gives coding agents tools to inspect software and explain how it works. Its MCP integration supports investigations of native binaries, JavaScript and Electron applications, .NET assemblies, websites, and runtime behavior. Analysis runs locally and can return evidence for an agent to explain or help reconstruct a feature. Native analysis may require a separately installed Hopper, Ghidra, or IDA engine; static JavaScript and .NET analysis do not require one. Users should only analyze software they are authorized to inspect.

REA features

  • MCP integration for coding agents
  • Native binary and application inspection
  • Local analysis with evidence-backed results

What can you use it for?

  • 01Investigate how a software feature works
  • 02Trace behavior in an application or binary
  • 03Rebuild a documented behavior in a project

Frequently asked questions about REA

Does REA require a native decompiler?

Deep native analysis uses Hopper, Ghidra, or IDA. The project says static JavaScript and .NET inspection work without a native analysis engine.
